A special insight: Behind the scenes at Paddock Farm’s rescue pond

August 17th, 2010

Here at Paddock Farm, we have a reputation for healthy and well cared for fish.  This takes our staff hours of dedication and a level of knowledge that is specific to a specialist centre.

In this video, Mark, our fish manager, explains the type of problems we help our customers with, how we take extra special care of these fish and what we can do to help when we see these issues come up.

Mark takes you through the steps involved with this surgery, how we handle the fish to ensure that it isn’t stressed any more than is absolutely necessary and how it then goes about recovering.

We hope you enjoy this special insight, and if you have any questions about this or perhaps something we do here that you’d like to know more about, you can let us know in the comments section below.

Project “Trops” reaches major milstone

August 3rd, 2010

How excited were we to start filling the new tanks in the new tropical section?  Hugely!

New tanks being filled

They were all fitted today and Mark, our tropical manager had been busy preparing water to fill them and we started this process this afternoon.  This marks a significant stage for us as we can now begin to start relocating some of the stock over to the new section and start work on the second phase of project “Trops”.

We’ve seen so many regular faces and also an overwhelming number of new people coming in to see the section and to take a look around, so a big thank you to all of you!

We’re all really working hard to bring you this new extension, so keep popping along and telling us what you think, we’ve had such great feedback so far!

See you soon!
